ADULT CONFIRMATION
For one reason or another, some Catholic adults who were baptized and celebrated First Communion as children never completed their initiation by celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation. Preparation sessions for Confirmation of Catholic adults can take place at various times throughout the year as needed, dependent upon on the size of the group.
Confirmation of Catholic adults is usually celebrated at the Easter Vigil (or at other times throughout the year, depending on circumstances). If you are interested in preparing to celebrate Confirmation as a Catholic adult (age 18 or older), please contact Sheila Murphy, Pastoral Associate.
CONFIRMATION OF YOUNG ADOLESCENTS
St. Monica-St. George Parish prepares adolescents in the 7th and 8th grades to celebrate Confirmation every other year (e.g. 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021 and so on) with the other parishes in the Cathedral deanery. Remote preparation for Confirmation takes place during weekly sessions of Children;s Faith Formation on Sunday mornings. Additionally, candidates also participate in a sacramental preparation session with their sponsor, an overnight retreat and other steps in the process as indicated on the annual CFF calendar.
