St. Monica-St. George has implemented a three year initiative to “plant” small groups in our parish.
Small groups welcome ALL to come together to share our lives and the joy of the gospel in order to experience a more personal sense of community, to deepen our faith and to empower each other to make a difference outside the walls of the church.
Parishioners are led by a number of trained small group facilitators to engage in this meaningful, transformative experience in their own home, the Catholic Center or some other venue (e.g. a coffee shop).
Small groups meet for 5 weeks on various days and times in the fall and during the Lenten season.
Afterwards, participants from all small groups are invited to participate in a large gathering to reflect on their experiences with others over a pot-luck brunch in the parish hall during Advent
Season and then again in the Easter Season.
Volunteers serve on the Core Team for Small Groups and/or as small group facilitators.
